Maxkamadda Sare ee UK waxay diiday cabashada ka dhanka ah safaaradda weyn ee Shiinaha
Maxkamadda Sare ee Boqortooyada Midowday ayaa isku daygii kooxda Royal Mint Court Residents' Association ee ah in la joojiyo dhismaha safaaradda cusub ee Shiinaha ay diiday. Go'aankii dawladda UK ee ogolaanshaha safaaradda ayaa hadda sii socda.
Doodda kooxda deegaanka iyo go'aanka maxkamadda
Royal Mint Court Residents' Association (RMCRA), oo matasha qiyaastii 100 guri oo ku xeeran goobta la qorsheeyay, ayaa ku dooday in safaaraddu kordhin karto khatarta weerarada argagixiso, beegsiga mucaaradka, iyo dhaqangelinta sharciyada 'draconian' ee Shiinaha.
RMCRA waxay sidoo kale sheegtay khatar dab oo ay ku doodeen in mas'uuliyiinta Shiinaha aysan u hoggaansami karin badbaadada sababtoo ah diblomaasiyadda. Maxkamadda ayaa tiri RMCRA 'ma ay soo saarin cadeyn macquul ah oo qancinaysa in xadgudub xuquuqul insaanka uu ku dhici karaa'.
Qorshaha safaaradda iyo taariikhdeeda
Safaaradda ayaa ogolaansho ka heshay dawladda UK wax yar ka hor inta uusan Ra'iisul Wasaaraha Keir Starmer booqdin ku tegin Shiinaha bishii Jannaayo. Haddii la dhammeeyo, waxay noqonaysaa safaaradda ugu weyn UK.
Beijing waxay qorsheynaysaa in ay ka dhisto goobtii Royal Mint ee u dhow Tower of London, oo daboolaysa 20,000 sq m. Waxaa la iibsaday 2018kii $327 milyan, iyada oo loo danaynayo in laga raro Portland Place.
Mucaaqibada iyo taageerayaasha dimuqraadiyadda
RMCRA waxay sheegtay in ay raadin doonto rukhsad rafcaan, iyada oo rajaynaysa in ay gaarsiiso Maxkamadda Sare. Luke Pollard ayaa yiri: 'Beijing thinks this judgment is the final word. It isn't. The appeal is already in the works'.
Firfircoonayaal Hong Kong oo dibadda ayaa ka baqaya in safaaraddu caawin karto Beijing in ay mucaaradka dibadda xakameyso. UK waxay hoy u tahay 285,000 qof oo asal Hong Kong ah.
Judges reject local group's rights and safety arguments as Beijing advances plans for UK's largest diplomatic mission
A UK High Court has dismissed a legal challenge to the government's approval of a new Chinese embassy in central London. The Royal Mint Court Residents' Association had argued the project threatened safety and rights. The court found no convincing evidence of personal human rights harm.
Residents' objections and court response
The RMCRA, representing roughly 100 properties near the site, claimed the embassy could raise terrorist attack risks, target dissidents, and enforce 'draconian' Chinese laws in the UK. It also warned of fire risks due to diplomatic immunity limiting safety enforcement.
The High Court ruled the group 'did not produce reasonable and convincing evidence of the likelihood that a violation of human rights affecting them personally would occur.' The embassy approval came shortly before then-Prime Minister Keir Starmer visited China in January this year.
Scale and location of the planned embassy
If completed, the embassy would be the largest in the UK, built on the former Royal Mint site next to the Tower of London. The plot covers about 20,000 square meters (235,000 square feet) purchased in 2018 for $327 million.
Beijing intends to move its embassy from Portland Place to the new premises. The scale and central location have drawn national attention beyond local concerns about the development and its diplomatic implications for the UK.
Appeal planned amid wider opposition
The RMCRA said it will seek appeal permission to reach the UK Supreme Court. Luke Pollard stated: 'Beijing thinks this judgment is the final word. It isn't. The appeal is already in the works.'
Exiled Hong Kong pro-democracy activists fear the embassy could help suppress dissidents abroad. The UK hosts the world's largest Hong Kong diaspora, with an estimated 285,000 people of Hong Kong origin resident.
