The acting head of the US Department of Justice, Todd Blanche, finalised an arrangement under which Trump cannot be audited or examined by the IRS for any year up until May this year. The immunity deal was negotiated in exchange for Trump dropping his $US10 billion lawsuit against the IRS, with estimates suggesting the agreement could excuse the president from paying hundreds of millions of dollars in tax on last year's earnings.
