Weerarada iyo hanjabaadaha ka dhanka ah shaqsiyaadka aan dhaqanka guud u ahayn ayaa sii kordhaya
Xadgudubka ka dhanka ah dadka aan u ekayn ama u dhaqmayn sidii dadka badankoodu u yahay ee Serbia ayaa sii kordhaya. Aleksandar Savic oo loo yaqaan Alexis Plastik ayaa la weeraray 11-kii July ee Belgrade, halka Vladimir Arsenijevic uu ku dhacay weerar kooxo midigta ah sameeyay.
Weerarada iyo Dhawaaqyada Bulshada
Aleksandar Savic (Alexis Plastik) ayaa 11-kii July laga sameeyay weerar Belgrade oo ay ku jireen feer, aflagaado khaniis-naceyb ah, iyo mindi lagu dhuftay. Dhakhaatiirtu waxay daweeyeen gooyo lugta ah iyo dhaawac isha ah.
Alexis Plastik wuxuu ka hadlay "cudurka faafa ee xadgudubka" ee Serbia. Vladimir Arsenijevic, agaasimaha barnaamijka ee Bandhigga Suugaanta Krokodil, ayaa la weeraray xilliga maalintii ee Belgrade isagoo u diyaar garoobay xuska xasuuqii Srebrenica 1995.
Diiwaangelinta Xadgudubka iyo Hadalka Rasmiga ah
Matija Stefanovic, oo ah qoraaga barnaamijka Da se Zna!, ayaa sheegay: "Xadgudubku wuxuu noqonayaa mid sii caadi ah, halka ilaalinta laga helayo aysan dammaanad qaadayn." Wuxuu intaa ku daray in aan baaritaan laga dhigin inta badan weerarada.
Da se Zna! waa hay'adda kaliya ee diiwaangelisa weerarada dadka queer ee Serbia, waxaana sanadkii hore la tiriyey 110 kiis. Bishii May bartamihiis waxaa Mornar laga sameeyay gaas ilmeyn, dhibbanayaalna waa la garaacay.
Khatarta iyo Mowqifka Bulshada
Saxaafadda EU ayaa muujisay 80% oo ka jawaabay inay ka fogaadeen qabashada gacanta lammaanahooda fagaaraha. Khariidadda Rainbow Map Serbia waxay degtay kaalinta 29-aad, lix meelood ka hooseysa celceliska Yurub.
Documented violence and threats highlight a worsening climate for queer people in the EU candidate country
Violence against people who do not conform to mainstream norms is increasing in Serbia, an EU candidate country. On July 11, drag queen Alexis Plastik was stabbed and insulted in Belgrade, while author Vladimir Arsenijevic was attacked the same day by right-wing thugs.
Activists Document Surge in Attacks
Da se Zna! is the only Serbian organization recording queer-targeted threats, vandalism and assault. Program coordinator Matija Stefanovic stated that last year the group counted 110 cases of attacks on queer people, more than ever before in its documentation work.
In mid-May, unknown assailants attacked Mornar, a queer bar in Belgrade, with tear gas. At the end of May, a trans woman and her partner were beaten unconscious by unidentified attackers, showing a pattern of escalating physical violence.
Systemic Failure and Public Fear
Stefanovic said: 'Violence is becoming increasingly normal, while protection against it is anything but guaranteed — especially for those who speak out against social or political problems, or who are unpopular with the general public.' He warned the attacks are systemic.
He added: 'The fact that most of these attacks aren't investigated and that the perpetrators are rarely held accountable means they can't be dismissed as isolated incidents. They represent a systemic problem that further stokes violence and emboldens perpetrators.'
Pride Events Blocked by Threats
After Da se Zna! published planned Pride Caravan destinations, the group received death threats. The Pirot event in mid-July was cancelled as police could not guarantee safety, and three journalists covering it were attacked by a mob.
Serbia ranked 29th on the latest Rainbow Map, down from 22nd five years ago. A EU survey found 80% of respondents avoid holding a partner's hand in public, reflecting widespread fear among the LGBTQ+ community.
