Ryan Seacrest hosted the 2026 Disney Legends Awards on Sunday at Anaheim's Honda Center, inducting Anne Hathaway, Bob Iger, Dwayne Johnson, the Jonas Brothers and Lin-Manuel Miranda as the latest honorees in the program that began in 1987.
Hathaway and Iger Receive Honors
Anne Hathaway was inducted more than two decades after her debut as Mia Thermopolis in The Princess Diaries, receiving the award from director David Frankel. She said, As cool as all this is, just us being us is where I'm happiest.
Bob Iger, who led The Walt Disney Co. for over two decades and oversaw major acquisitions including Pixar, Marvel and Lucasfilm, was honored by current CEO Josh D'Amaro, who called him one of the most consequential business leaders of our time.
Johnson, Jonas Brothers and Miranda Celebrated
Dwayne Johnson was honored by Jungle Cruise costar Emily Blunt, closing with the message, It's nice to be important. But it's more important to be nice. The Jonas Brothers were inducted by Vanessa Hudgens, with Joe Jonas revealing his first word was Gaston.
Lin-Manuel Miranda received the honor from Moana star Auli'i Cravalho, who called him one of the defining musical storytellers of her generation. Miranda responded, And I'm grateful for you, for believing in me. God, what a time.
A Legacy of 329 Disney Legends
Including the 2026 class, 329 people have been named Disney Legends since the program began in 1987 with Fred MacMurray as the first recipient. Other honorees in 2026 included Chris Berman, Jerry Bruckheimer, Susan Egan, Eric Goldberg, Kim Irvine and Alan Tudyk.
The most recent class in 2024 featured Miley Cyrus, Kelly Ripa, Angela Bassett, Jamie Lee Curtis and Harrison Ford, while previous honorees include Robin Roberts, Julie Andrews, James Cameron, George Lucas and Robin Williams.
