Zoox ee Amazon Oggolaansho Ka Heshey NHTSA oo Ku Saabsan Taksi-yada Aan Rixeeye lahayn
Hay'adda NHTSA ayaa u oggolaatay Zoox inay dalabyo rasmi ah bixiso kadib marka ay hesho ogolaanshaha gobolada
Maamulka NHTSA ayaa siiyay Zoox oo ah shirkadda taksi-yada iskood u socda ee Amazon oggolaansho ay kula dalbanto dadweynaha, iyadoo laga dhaafay shuruucdii ahaa in baabuurta xakamad bini'aadam ah laga helo. Tani waa talaabo muhiim ah oo loogu talagalay tiknoolajiyadda iskood u socota ee waddanka Maraykanka.
Oggolaanshaha iyo Shuruudaha NHTSA
Maamulaha NHTSA Jonathan Morrison ayaa sheegay in Zoox ay ilaa hadda buuxisay shuruudaha badbaadada, laakiin uu caddeeyay in la isugu imaan doono si tartiib ah, iyadoo aan baabuurrada dadweynaha laga iibinayn isla markaaba. Waxa uu xusay in nidaamyada Zoox ay ka sarreeyaan shuruudaha baabuurta caadiga ah.
Morrison wuxuu yiri: 'We can say pretty clearly that the systems in place on the Zoox exceed the equivalent performance requirements of a compliant vehicle.' Wuxuuna intaa ku daray: 'But we still want to make sure that the automated driving system will operate appropriately.' Zoox waxaa loo oggolaaday inay dhisaan ilaa 2,500 baabuur sanadkii muddo laba sano ah.
Naqshadda Baabuurka iyo Adeegga
Baabuurrada Zoox waa kuwo leydi ah oo qaab fadhiyada rakaabka ee is wajahan, waxayna gaari karaan 120km ama 75 mayl saacaddii. Ma jiraan fadhi darawal, baaldiyo ama rixeeye, waxaana bilaash loogu raaciyay Las Vegas iyo San Francisco sanadkii hore.
Shirkaddu waxay dhowaan bilaabi doontaa inay lacag ka qaado adeegga, marka hore Las Vegas, ka dibna suuqyo kale marka ay dhammaystirto shuruudaha gobolka. In ka badan nus milyan oo qof ayaa horay u raacay baabuurrada shirkadda, sida ay xaqiijisay.
Doodda Kooxaha Badbaadada iyo Tartanka
Kooxda Advocates for Highway and Auto Safety ayaa ka walaacsan qorshaha Zoox ee ah inay ku shaqeyso la'aanteed rixeeye, iyagoo sheegay inaysan bixin caddeyn faahfaahsan oo ku saabsan badbaadada waddooyinka. Peter Kurdock ayaa yiri: 'Lots of promises, lots of glossy language, lots of We believe, we think we'll do this.'
Zoox iyo Tesla waxay ku tartamayaan Waymo ee Alphabet, oo leh Jaguar koronto ku shaqeya oo leh rixeeye. Amazon waxay $1.2bn ku iibsatay Zoox, waxayna rajaynaysaa inay soo saarto 10,000 taksi sanadkii agagaarka Silicon Valley. Aicha Evans ayaa tiri: 'This achievement reflects a shared commitment to enabling innovation while maintaining the highest standards of safety.'
NHTSA exemption allows paid rides after state approval; deployment capped at 2,500 vehicles yearly
The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has approved Zoox, Amazon's autonomous vehicle unit, to charge customers for rides once state and local permissions are secured. The company received an exemption from federal rules requiring human controls on vehicles. No units are for immediate public sale.
Federal approval and safety conditions
NHTSA administrator Jonathan Morrison told Reuters that Zoox had met its safety requirements so far. He stated: 'We can say pretty clearly that the systems in place on the Zoox exceed the equivalent performance requirements of a compliant vehicle.' Morrison added: 'But we still want to make sure that the automated driving system will operate appropriately.'
Zoox received clearance to deploy up to 2,500 vehicles commercially in each of the next two years. NHTSA imposed extra reporting duties on the firm for crashes or inappropriate road stopping. Morrison confirmed a staggered rollout with no immediate public sales of the vehicles.
Vehicle design and service rollout
Zoox vehicles are rectangular carriage-style cars with facing passenger seats and no driver's seat, pedals or steering wheel. They reach 120km or 75 miles per hour. Free rides began in Las Vegas and San Francisco last year ahead of paid service.
Paid operations will start in Las Vegas, then expand as state requirements are met. More than half a million people have already ridden in Zoox vehicles. Amazon acquired Zoox for $1.2bn and aims to build 10,000 robotaxis yearly near Silicon Valley.
Concerns and industry context
The Advocates for Highway and Auto Safety warned Zoox lacked detailed evidence for safe public operation without standard controls. General counsel Peter Kurdock said: 'Lots of promises, lots of glossy language, lots of "We believe, we think we'll do this." Yet there really was no data behind the promises, and that's really concerning to us.'
Zoox and Tesla trail industry leader Waymo, owned by Alphabet, whose electric Jaguar SUVs keep steering wheels and pedals. After NHTSA cited AVs interfering with responders, Zoox recalled 105 vehicles for software fixing smoke detection. CEO Aicha Evans said: 'This achievement reflects a shared commitment to enabling innovation while maintaining the highest standards of safety.'
