Qalabkan cusub wuxuu ka yimid shirkadda OpenClaw, oo Meta ay hore u iibsatay.
Sean O’Kane: Isku daygii Muse iyo xisaabta ammaanka
Sean O’Kane, warbaahinta TechCrunch, wuxuu sheegay inuu Muse isku dayay, balse uu ku tilmaamay mid 'party-trick' ah, maadaama uu kaliya siin karo fursadaha lacagaha. Wuxuu sheegay inuu Muse uusan si toos ah u xiriirin adeegyada Facebook, Instagram, iyo Threads, taasoo ka dhigatay mid aad u fudud in la isticmaalo.

Meta unveiled its consumer-focused AI agent, Muse, at its annual Connect event, with CEO Mark Zuckerberg signaling a push to embed AI across all its platforms. The device, designed with a Tamagotchi-style aesthetic and aimed at adults, has drawn mixed reactions from tech analysts who question whether users will trust Meta with sensitive personal data.
A Consumer-First AI Push
Meta introduced Muse at its Connect event, positioning it as a consumer AI device rather than an enterprise tool. Kirsten Korosec noted that Meta has an established track record of embedding itself in everyday people's lives through platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. She suggested it is smart for Meta to continue pushing on the consumer piece of AI, especially as competitors like OpenAI and Anthropic focus on enterprise and coding tools.
The device integrates work from OpenClaw, a startup that Meta acquired and whose technology was folded into Muse. Sean O’Kane described Muse as Meta's ground-up version of an on-your-phone app of OpenClaw, highlighting that having it in your hand as a chatbot interface seems powerful. However, he noted that while the initial experience was impressive, the long-term utility remains uncertain.
The Trust Wall: Ads vs. Privacy
Sean O’Kane expressed concerns about trusting Meta's AI with sensitive information due to Meta's business model of selling ads. He stated that Meta's business is to sell you ads, and the more they know about you, the more accurate and interesting the ads will be. He compared this approach to a 'fever dream,' questioning whether users will ever trust Meta the same way they trust Apple with sensitive data.
O’Kane found that Muse did not immediately prompt him to connect to Threads, Instagram, or Facebook, which made him more willing to use it initially. However, he noted that as users start to engage, the device tries to grab and pull those things into the system. He emphasized that he just trusts Apple more with really sensitive information, not only from a cybersecurity perspective but because its business is not to sell him a bunch of crappy ads.
Limited Utility Beyond the Honeymoon
Sean O’Kane described Muse's ability to find unclaimed money for users as a one-time shot rather than a repeatable feature. He called it more of a 'party-trick type thing' that does not drive ongoing usage. While the initial discovery of unclaimed funds was exciting, he noted that beyond this lever, he has not found anything else really useful about the device.
The more sustainable version of Muse's capabilities involves applying its financial tools to everyday finances, such as canceling unused subscriptions and identifying double charges, similar to Rocket Money. However, O’Kane found that this functionality runs into the trust wall with Meta. He mentioned that the new Siri on iOS is surprising and helpful, and he is more willing to use it for sensitive information, further highlighting the trust gap with Meta.
