Iskaashiga Beecaha Macdanta ee Muhiimka ah ee Kobaca Mustaqbalka—Fariinta Shirkii Diggers and Dealers
Wakiillo badan ayaa ku soo ururay Kalgoorlie-Boulder iyagoo ka hadlaya saadka macdanta qayaxanka ah iyo xiisadaha adduunka
In ka badan 2,500 wakiil ayaa la filayaa inay ka qayb galaan Shirweynaha Macdanta ee Diggers and Dealers ee magaalada Kalgoorlie-Boulder. Joe Hockey, hore u ahaa khasnaji federaal iyo danjire u ahaa Maraykanka, ayaa ah afhayeenka ugu muhiimsan ee sanadkan.
Shirweynaha 35-aad iyo Iluka Resources
Shirweynaha Diggers and Dealers wuxuu gaaray daabkiisa 35-aad. Shirkadda Iluka Resources, oo ay dawladdu taageerto, waxay dhismayso warshad dib-u-shiidid ah oo rare earths ah oo qiimaheedu yahay $1.8 billion oo ku taal Midwest ee WA.
Dan McGrath, oo ah madaxa qayaxanka ee Iluka, ayaa sheegay in wada-hadallada saadka ay qarsoodi yihiin sababtoo ah khatarta China ay jarin karto saadka. Wuxuu intaa ku daray in xiriirka Australia ay leedahay Maraykanka uu qayb muhiim ah yahay.
Heshiiska Saadka iyo Warshadda Eneabba
Bishii June, Iluka waxay saxixtay heshiiskii ugu horreeyay ee offtake ah oo ay la gashay shirkad baabuur caalami ah oo aan magaceeda la shaacin si ay u keento oksaydh rare earths laga bilaabo 2028. Qiimaha heshiisku waa $US155 million ($220 million) oo saldhigaya afartii sano ee ugu horreysay ee shaqada Eneabba.
Warshadda Eneabba waxay ku taal qiyaastii 280 km waqooyi ee Perth waxayna dhisan tahay 60 boqolkiiba. Waxaa taageeraya amaah $1.65 billion ah oo ka timid Critical Minerals Facility, waxayna soo saari doontaa neodymium, praseodymium, terbium iyo dysprosium.
India iyo Iskaashiga Caalamiga ah
Bishii July, dawladda federaalku waxay saxixtay heshiis ay ku siinayso uranium badan India. Nagesh Singh, oo ah safiirka sare ee India u fadhiya Australia, ayaa booqday warshadda $800 million ee Lynas Rare Earths ee Kalgoorlie.
Singh wuxuu yiri: "I am not naming any countries but trade, resources are being weaponised … so like-minded countries who share common geopolitical objectives are coming together the world over." Wuxuu ku daray in macdantaas waa in la dimoqraadiyadda.
More than 2,500 delegates gathered in Kalgoorlie-Boulder for the 35th Diggers and Dealers Mining Forum, where former federal treasurer Joe Hockey delivered the keynote address and rare earth supply chains dominated the agenda.
Iluka Resources Secures First Offtake Deal
Iluka Resources signed its first offtake agreement in June with an unnamed global car maker to supply magnet rare earth oxides from 2028, a deal valued at $US155 million ($220 million) that will underpin the first four years of operations at its Eneabba refinery.
The Eneabba facility, located approximately 280 kilometres north of Perth and about 60 per cent complete, is backed by a $1.65 billion loan from the federal government's Critical Minerals Facility and will produce neodymium, praseodymium, terbium and dysprosium.
Supply Chains Remain Confidential Amid China Risk
Iluka's head of rare earths, Dan McGrath, explained that ongoing discussions with multiple parties are kept confidential because current supply chains rely on rare earths from China, creating a risk of supply disruption before Iluka's own output becomes available next year.
McGrath emphasised that Australia's relationship with the United States is a critical component for rare earths supply chains, noting that the world needs more rare earths and that manufacturing supply chains are currently captive to the whim of the Chinese government.
India's High Commissioner Calls for Mineral Democratisation
India's High Commissioner to Australia, Nagesh Singh, stated that trade and resources are being weaponised and that like-minded countries are coming together for cooperation, urging that specific minerals should be democratised so everyone has access without the threat of denial.
Singh toured the $800 million Kalgoorlie refinery owned by the Gina Rinehart-backed Lynas Rare Earths during his stopover, and the federal government had previously signed an agreement in July to supply more uranium to India.
