Green Party Warns Over Low German Gas Storage Levels

Germany's Green Party is calling for urgent action over low gas storage levels ahead of the coming winter. Michael Kellner, an energy policy expert for the Green Party, said it was frustrating to have to talk about empty gas storage facilities again, but the situation is serious.

Germany's gas storage facilities are currently around 52% full, far below the 70% target set for November 1. The Economy Ministry says Germany is not expected to face a gas shortage this winter, but acknowledged the situation is more strained than during the previous two winters.
