The Gender in Humanitarian Action (GiHA) Working Group conducted five online consultations with women's rights organizations across Ukraine to gather input for the upcoming Humanitarian Needs and Response Plan 2027 (HNRP 2027). These sessions were designed to ensure that the voices of those most affected by the ongoing crisis are central to shaping the country's humanitarian strategy for the next year.
Participating organizations represented a wide range of vulnerable populations, including GBV and CRSV survivors, women and girls with disabilities, Roma women and girls, women and girls living with HIV, the LGBTIQ+ community, and people with substance use disorders, including those receiving opioid substitution therapy (OST). This inclusive approach reflects a commitment to addressing the specific needs of marginalized groups within the broader humanitarian response framework.
Key Findings Presented at Meaning-Making Workshop
On September 3rd, the key takeaways from the consultations were formally presented in Kyiv during the Meaning-Making Workshop. The event was organized by the GiHA Working Group in collaboration with the Cross-Cutting Expertise Group, which includes the Age and Disability TWG, AAP WG, and LGBTIQ+ TW, alongside the Data Coordination Group comprising REACH, IOM, and OCHA.
