Erdogan stated that Gaza is no longer merely the world's largest graveyard for children, but also has the highest rate of children who have lost limbs, and has become one of the most brutal and shameful mass detention camps in the world today, an ignominy for humanity.
He added that the West Bank is currently enduring the worst period of settler terrorism, while Muslims and Christians in Jerusalem are being denied access to holy sites, urging all nations that haven't recognized the State of Palestine to reconsider their decisions.
Palestinian Leadership and Regional Stability
The Turkish leader said Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas was unable to attend the UN General Assembly in New York for the second consecutive year, and that the injustice inflicted on Palestinians wounds the conscience.
Delving into the evolving situation in Syria, Erdogan stated that Syria is approaching its goal of becoming a secure and peaceful nation, assuring that Ankara would rally to the Syrian people's side.
Security Council Reform and Regional Diplomacy
The Turkish president reiterated his call for reform of the UN Security Council, stressing that such reform must be guided by the principle that the world is bigger than five. He emphasized that meaningful Security Council reform must begin with abolishing the veto.
