Safarka Macron iyo booqashada Bayeux Tapestry
Madaxweynaha Faransiiska Emmanuel Macron iyo xaggiiisa Brigitte, iyo Ra'iisul Wasaaraha Ingiriiska Andy Burnham iyo xaggiiisa Marie-France van Heel, ayaa isku biiray Boqorka Ingiriiska Charles III iyo Boqoradda Camilla, iyagoo maraya dhibicda Bayeux Tapestry ee 70 mitir ah ee Muuseyga.
Tani waxay ahayd booqashada ugu horreysay ee Macron ee dalka Ingiriiska tan iyo markii Burnham xilka qabtay, sidoo kalena waxay ahayd kulankeedii ugu horreeyay ee labada hoggaamiye isku arkeen si toos ah, iyadoo ay u muuqato mid ka duwan taariikhda labada dal.
Bayeux Tapestry: Taariikh iyo muhiimadda
Bayeux Tapestry waa shaqo 70 mitir ah oo laga sameeyay Ingiriiska, waxayna ku qoran tahay 58 dhacdo oo Latin ah, iyadoo ay ku jirto dhacdada 1066-kii oo William the Conqueror ku guuleystay inuu Ingiriiska la wareego.
Tani waa markii ugu horreysay ee Bayeux Tapestry ay dalka Ingiriiska gasho tan iyo markii la sameeyay 11-aadkii, iyadoo ay ku jirto dhacdada Harold Godwinson oo la sheegay inuu la dhaqaaqay, inkastoo taariikhda cusub ay sheegto inay tahay mid aan la xaqiijin karin.
Muhiimadda Bayeux Tapestry ee xiriirka Faransiiska iyo Ingiriiska
Boqorka Ingiriiska Charles III ayaa sheegay in Bayeux Tapestry ay tahay 'muuqaal aad u muhiim ah oo ka dhigaya xiriirka Faransiiska iyo Ingiriiska mid aad u wanaagsan', halkaas oo uu ku daray inay tahay 'muuqaal aad u muhiim ah oo ka dhigaya xiriirka Faransiiska iyo Ingiriiska mid aad u wanaagsan'.
Ra'iisul Wasaaraha Ingiriiska Andy Burnham ayaa sheegay in Bayeux Tapestry ay tahay 'muuqaal aad u muhiim ah oo ka dhigaya xiriirka Faransiiska iyo Ingiriiska mid aad u wanaagsan', halkaas oo uu ku daray inay tahay 'muuqaal aad u muhiim ah oo ka dhigaya xiriirka Faransiiska iyo Ingiriiska mid aad u wanaagsan'.
French President Emmanuel Macron opened his two-day UK trip by viewing the Bayeux Tapestry alongside King Charles III and Prime Minister Andy Burnham at the British Museum, marking the first time the 11th-century artwork has touched British soil since its creation.
A Rare Diplomatic Gathering
Macron, his wife Brigitte, Burnham and his wife Marie-France van Heel joined King Charles and Queen Camilla to walk the full length of the 70-meter tapestry. Charles described the temporary loan as a 'precious symbol of trust' between the two nations, while Macron remarked that the countries are 'as close as the threads' in the artwork.
This visit represents Macron's first trip to the UK since Burnham took office six weeks ago and their first in-person meeting as leaders. The tapestry was transited across the Channel in secret in July before arriving at the British Museum for a 10-month exhibition opening to the public on September 10.
A Landmark Moment for Anglo-French Ties
Burnham called the tapestry's return 'a landmark moment' in the history of the two countries. He highlighted the loan as a prime example of French-British cooperation, noting it has helped reduce summer small boat crossings to a seven-year low.
The exchange was first announced during Macron's state visit last year. Burnham praised the broader cooperation with Macron's government in the House of Commons, linking the cultural exchange to progress on reducing illegal migration across the English Channel.
The Bayeux Tapestry: A Millennium-Old Masterpiece
The embroidered cloth, which has brief Latin titles captioning its 58 scenes, is widely accepted to have been made in England as a tribute to William the Conqueror after his victory. It was then transported to his family home in Normandy, where it has resided since the 11th century.
The artwork depicts the Norman conquest of England in 1066, showing how forces led by William the Conqueror defeated and dethroned King Harold Godwinson at the Battle of Hastings. It famously illustrates Harold being shot in the eye with an arrow, though modern historians consider this likely a myth or artistic exaggeration.
