Beddelka xarumaha dhaqaalaha

Xarunta Devices and Consumer waxay ka kooban tahay dakhliga LinkedIn, Xbox, Windows, iyo alaabta kale ee shakhsi ahaan loo isticmaalo. Microsoft is overhauling its financial reporting framework, consolidating its business units into two segments and disclosing quarterly Azure revenue for the first time to better reflect the transformative impact of artificial intelligence on its operations.
New Two-Segment Structure Replaces Three-Way Model
The tech giant is moving away from its previous three-segment model, which included Productivity and Business Processes, Intelligent Cloud, and More Personal Computing, to a streamlined two-segment approach. The new divisions are Agents and Infra and Devices and Consumer, designed to better capture how AI is reshaping the company's product boundaries and business models.
Under the revised structure, Xbox and Windows will be grouped under the Devices and Consumer segment, which will also encompass search and advertising revenues from LinkedIn and Windows OEM and device sales. This consolidation aims to provide a clearer picture of Microsoft's consumer-facing and advertising-driven income streams.
Azure Revenue Disclosed Quarterly for the First Time
A major shift in this reporting framework is the quarterly disclosure of Azure revenue, a metric previously reported only on a year-over-year basis. Starting with its first quarter of fiscal 2027 earnings in late October, Microsoft will present Azure as a purely consumption-based platform and infrastructure business, excluding GitHub cloud services and Security Copilot and Healthcare and Life Sciences cloud revenues.
CEO Satya Nadella emphasized that this change reflects the profound impact of AI, stating that it is blurring the boundaries between products and reshaping business models. He added that within each segment, investors will now see full transparency of quarterly revenue across key businesses, including Azure, M365 Cloud, industry solutions, and advertising.
AI as a Catalyst for Business Model Transformation
Microsoft's leadership has framed the reporting overhaul as a direct response to the ongoing AI revolution, which is fundamentally altering how the company builds and operates. The new structure is intended to give investors a more accurate view of how AI-driven services like frontier and support services are integrated across the business.
The company's decision to reorganize its financial disclosures signals a strategic pivot toward greater clarity on AI's role in its revenue generation. By separating Azure into its own consumption-based category and grouping consumer-facing assets under a unified segment, Microsoft aims to simplify investor understanding of its evolving portfolio.
