Meta waxay ka joojisay barnaamijka 'tokenmaxxing' ee shaqaalaha, laakiin waxay sii waddaa inay ku dhiirrigeliyo isticmaalka AI
Warbixin gudaha oo ka soo baxday maanta ayaa sheegaysa in shirkadda Meta ay ka joojisay barnaamijka ay ku dhiirrigelinayeen shaqaalaha inay isticmaalaan AI, iyadoo ku xirnaanshaha guddiga shaqada la bedelay mid cusub oo aan ku saleysanayn tirada isticmaalka.
Joojinta barnaamijka tokenmaxxing iyo beddelka guddiga shaqada
Shirkadda Meta ayaa maanta sheegtay inay ka joojisay barnaamijka ay ku dhiirrigelinayeen shaqaalaha inay isticmaalaan AI, iyadoo ku xirnaanshaha guddiga shaqada la bedelay mid cusub oo aan ku saleysanayn tirada isticmaalka. Horey, guddiga shaqada waxaa loo beddelay mid ku saleysan 'AI-driven impact,' taasoo macnaheedu ahaa in la qiimeeyo sida shaqaaluhu u isticmaali jireen AI.
Warbixinta cusub waxay beddelisaa qodobada hore ee ku saabsan 'usage of AI' iyo 'AI Native,' iyadoo ku xirnaanshaha guddiga shaqada la bedelay mid cusub oo aan ku saleysanayn tirada isticmaalka. Horey, guddiga shaqada waxaa loo beddelay mid ku saleysan 'AI-driven impact,' taasoo macnaheedu ahaa in la qiimeeyo sida shaqaaluhu u isticmaali jireen AI.
Dambiilayaasha iyo khilaafka guddiga shaqada
Dambiilayaasha ayaa sheegay in shaqaalaha ku jira xilliyada caafimaadka iyo qoyska ay uusan helin fursad inay isticmaalaan AI, taasoo keentay inay noqdaan kuwo aan la qiimeyn. Shirkaddu waxay sheegtay inay diyaar u tahay inay ka jawaabto khilaafka guddiga shaqada.

Meta has formally ended its internal tokenmaxxing incentive program, telling employees that performance reviews will no longer depend on how much they use AI tools. The shift comes as workers begin testing a new agentic AI tool called Hatch, even as token consumption continues to rise.
Tokenmaxxing Program Officially Ends
Meta announced this week that it is ending the incentive structure that previously tied employee evaluations to AI tool usage. Under the old system, workers were graded on their 'AI-driven impact,' which in practice meant measuring how much they used chatbots and agents to improve their daily work. Usage levels correlated with labels such as 'AI Native,' 'AI First,' or 'AI Enabled.'
New guidance for performance reviews replaces references to evaluating employees based on criteria like 'usage of AI' and their 'AI Native' designation with looser wording. The updated language states that 'these outcomes can be supported by AI or other means,' restoring the focus to grading employees on their impact regardless of how it is achieved.
Employees Push Back Against Tokenmaxxing Culture
For months, some Meta employees say their colleagues prompted AI tools repeatedly—or what they viewed as frivolously—to maximize internal usage measurements, like the amount of tokens, or AI units, they consumed. The tokenmaxxing era reached a high point when one Meta worker created an internal leaderboard for tracking how much employees used AI, labeling them as, for example, a 'Token Legend.'
Workers on health and family leaves say they couldn't accumulate usage and were unfairly penalized as a result; Meta has denied the allegations in the ongoing case. A lawsuit was filed in July by about two dozen employees arguing that Meta violated US antidiscrimination laws when laying them off in May.
Hatch Testing Continues Amid Privacy Concerns
Meta has been encouraging—but not requiring—employees to use its most advanced AI experiment, an agentic tool known as Hatch. Hatch can browse the web and operate other applications, and employees have been able to test it for the past several weeks on their corporate devices ahead of an expected public release.
Some employees have been hesitant to connect Hatch to their personal email, calendar, and other nonwork digital accounts because of privacy worries, as well the possibility that the AI could mess up something important. Meta previously ran a project that tracked employees' keystrokes and other activity on their work devices to collect data for training AI systems, which eroded many employees' trust in the company's AI tools.
