Khabiirka hore ee shirkadda AI-ka ah ee Anthropic, Jacob Coxon, wuxuu maanta ka baxay shirkadda kadib markuu sheegay in horumarinta AI-ka oo aan la xakameyn karin ay noqon karto mid ku dhaca nolosha dadka. Wuxuu sheegay in shirkadaha horumariya AI-ka ay si weyn uga baqeen inay u dhaqaaqaan inay noqdaan kuwo awood leh, balse aanay u diyaarsanayn inay ka hortagaan khataraha.

Coxon, kaas oo saddex sano ka hor ku shaqaynayay OpenAI iyo Anthropic, wuxuu sheegay in shirkadahaas ay si khaldan u socdaan, isagoo sheegay inay u dhaqaaqayaan inay noqdaan kuwo awood leh, balse aanay u diyaarsanayn inay ka hortagaan khataraha. Khabiirka kale ee Anthropic, Evan Hubinger, wuxuu sheegay in AI-ku uu noqon karo mid khaladaad ku yeelan kara nolosha, isagoo sheegay in shirkaddu ay si khaldan u socdaan, balse aanay u diyaarsanayn inay ka hortagaan khataraha. Dowladaha ayaa bilaabay inay ka hortagaan AI-ka cusub
Dowladaha Mareykanka iyo England ayaa bilaabay inay ka hortagaan AI-ka cusub, isagoo sheegay in shirkadahaas ay si weyn uga baqeen inay u dhaqaaqaan inay noqdaan kuwo awood leh, balse aanay u diyaarsanayn inay ka hortagaan khataraha. Jacob Coxon, a researcher who spent three years at OpenAI and Anthropic, quit Tuesday, accusing the firms of racing toward self-improving superintelligence while gambling with humanity's survival.
A Warning from the Inside
Coxon posted on X that the companies are 'racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives.' He argued that the people building AI 'earnestly believe it could kill us all by the end of the decade,' and that this is not a marketing stunt. He urged other researchers to consider whether they want to launch a superintelligent run without a rigorous understanding of its mind.
He added that accepting this race and entering the 'endgame' is a hubristic gamble that should not be launched from a private company's Slack. Coxon expressed cautious optimism about coordination, noting that incidents like the Hugging Face breach have made pacing agreements between U.S. labs more viable, though he does not feel a global race is being prevented.
Industry and Policy Respond
Colleague Evan Hubinger echoed the alarm, stating his team 'earnestly believe AI could kill all humans!' He said the likelihood exceeds 10% within the next decade and admitted Anthropic does not have a plan to solve alignment for superintelligence. A recent report from Guidelight AI Standards found that few top AI labs have published containment response plans for shutting down AI that tries to subvert human control.
In Washington and London, lawmakers are moving to ban superintelligence. Sen. Bernie Sanders and Rep. Greg Casar introduced the Ban Artificial Superintelligence Act, while British Labour MP Alex Sobel introduced the Artificial Superintelligence Security Bill. Connor Leahy of ControlAI said superintelligence is 'not a tool' and 'not a weapon, even. It's an adversary.'
A Wave of Startups Chases Recursive AI
While the debate intensifies, a wave of well-funded startups is racing to build recursive self-improving AI. Ricursive Intelligence raised $335 million at a $4 billion valuation in February, and Recursive Superintelligence raised $650 million at the same valuation three months later. Former Google DeepMind veteran Jeff Dean launched Discovery Loop last month.
Connor Leahy warned that recursive self-improving loops are 'the most likely candidate for the point we lose control.' He said it is 'very hard to imagine shutting that down before it's too late.' Meanwhile, Anthropic did not immediately return a request for comment on Coxon's resignation.
