Google, Nvidia iyo Anthropic waxay ku biireen ururka Emerald AI si loo helo meel ku habboon kaydinta macluumaadka
Shirkadda Emerald AI waxay ku dhawaaqday inay la shaqeyn doonto Google iyo Nvidia si loo isticmaalo barnaamijkeeda loona helo meel ku habboon kaydinta macluumaadka. Ururka AI Energy Management Alliance (AEMA) wuxuu doonayaa inuu u beddelo qaab-dhismeedka kaydinta macluumaadka.
Haddii loo isticmaalo, waxaa laga heli karaa 100 gigawatt oo kaydinta macluumaadka ah
Ururka AEMA wuxuu sheegayaa in haddii loo isticmaalo qaabka loo beddelo isticmaalka biyaha, waxaa laga heli karaa 100 gigawatt oo kaydinta macluumaadka ah. Tani waxay ka dhigan tahay in shirkadaha kaydinta macluumaadka ay si fudud u beddelaan isticmaalka biyaha.
Shirkadda Emerald AI waxay leedahay barnaamij oo ay ku xiriirto shirkadaha kaydinta macluumaadka iyo shirkadaha biyaha. Barnaamijkan wuxuu ka caawiyaa shirkadaha kaydinta macluumaadka inay si fudud u beddelaan isticmaalka biyaha.
Shirkadaha kale ee ku biiray ururka iyo mashaariicda horumarineed
Shirkadaha kale ee ku biiray ururka waxaa ka mid ah Anthropic, AES, Constellation, National Grid, iyo NRG Energy. Shirkadahan waxay isku dayayaan inay ku biiraan ururka si ay uga faa'iideystaan barnaamijka loo beddelo isticmaalka biyaha.
Shirkadda Emerald AI waxay heshay lacag dhan $150 milyan oo dollar ah. Lacagdan waxay ka caawisay shirkadda inay horumariyo barnaamijkeeda si ay uga faa'iideysato shirkadaha kaydinta macluumaadka.
Faa'iidooyinka iyo xad-dhaafka barnaamijka
Barnaamijkan wuxuu ka caawiyaa shirkadaha kaydinta macluumaadka inay si fudud u beddelaan isticmaalka biyaha. Tani waxay ka dhigan tahay in shirkadaha kaydinta macluumaadka ay si fudud u beddelaan isticmaalka biyaha.
Waxaa jira xad-dhaafyo oo ku saabsan barnaamijkan. Shirkadda Emerald AI waxay sheegtay in barnaamijkeedu uusan ka dhigi karin in shirkadaha kaydinta macluumaadka ay si fudud u beddelaan isticmaalka biyaha.
A new coalition led by Google, Nvidia and Anthropic is deploying Emerald AI's software to make demand response a core part of data center development, potentially freeing up to 100 gigawatts of grid capacity.
A New Coalition for AI-Powered Grid Management
Emerald AI has formed a coalition with Google and Nvidia to use the startup's technology to secure space on the grid for more data centers. The AI Energy Management Alliance (AEMA) hopes to make demand response an integral part of data center development.
The founding trio is joined by Anthropic, and a range of utilities including AES, Constellation, National Grid, and NRG Energy. The alliance aims to coordinate electricity use across the industry in a way that traditional demand-response programs have not achieved.
How Demand Response Could Expand Grid Capacity
Emerald AI's software coordinates requests from utilities with data centers, which can pause noncritical tasks or shift loads to other data centers where the grid has some headroom. Pausing noncritical tasks and shifting some compute loads could allow an additional 100 gigawatts of data centers to connect to the grid.
Limiting max grid usage to 90% for a few hours at a time could let data centers free up 76 gigawatts of capacity, according to a study by Goldman Sachs published last year. The startup's approach connects utilities directly to data centers, allowing them to respond quickly to requests, much like batteries.
Funding and the Limits of Demand Response
Emerald AI recently raised $150 million in a Series A led by Energize Capital and DCVC, giving it the sort of funding needed to roll out the technology on a wider scale. The coalition also promises to help tech companies and utilities find new sites for data centers, an effort that hasn't been easy for either party.
Despite its promise, more sophisticated demand response won't solve all of the grid's problems today. Ayse Coskun, Emerald AI's chief scientist, told TechCrunch that her company's technology promises to blunt the industry's need for new generating sources, but it won't eliminate it entirely.
