Manchester United have completed the signing of Mexico international Rebeca Bernal from Washington Spirit on a three-year deal worth up to £300,000, making her the first Mexican to feature in the Women's Super League.
Bernal Joins Manchester United on Three-Year Deal
Manchester United have completed the signing of Rebeca Bernal from Washington Spirit on a three-year contract believed to be worth up to £300,000. The 29-year-old Mexico international can play in the centre of either defence or midfield and will become the first Mexican to feature in the Women's Super League.
Bernal made 223 appearances for CF Monterrey before joining Washington Spirit, where she helped them win the Challenge Cup. She has also made 78 appearances for Mexico, scoring nine goals, including the winner in the 2023 Pan American Games women's football final as they beat Chile to claim the title for the first time.

"I have experienced a lot of special moments in my career and the privilege of representing Manchester United is truly incredible," said Bernal. "It is clear that I am joining a great environment. Eva [Olid] is an excellent coach and you can see the determination throughout the whole squad to be successful."
