The tournament has seen Spain win four times, Italy three, and Poland twice, with the Republic of Ireland, Portugal, Croatia, and the Czech Republic each claiming one title. McCann's team now aims to become the first England side to progress to the finals.
Amateur Players, Professional Preparation
The squad comprises amateur players with day jobs, including captain Tim Kinsella, an electrician, and vice-captain Liam McDowell, a quantity surveyor. Two members are qualified PE teachers, while others are studying PGCEs. Some players are taking unpaid leave, but most treat the trip as an eight-day break.

Facing Finland, Portugal, and Sweden
On Sunday September 6, McCann and his team fly to Sweden for three games against Finland's Jarvenpaa United, Portugal's Algarve, and Sweden's Gothenburg. Of the 34 teams in the tournament, the Cheshire League side is ranked 17th, while their opponents are ranked 11th, 7th, and 30th respectively.
The team will wear the full England kit, including tracksuits, t-shirts, training shirts, shorts, and socks. An FA-registered coach will assist with preparation, though his main priority is scouting the other teams. McCann emphasized that the focus is on winning all three games and progressing to the finals.
