Lewis Hamilton has warned that Saturday's Italian Grand Prix qualifying at Monza will be a tight contest, describing a pole position for Ferrari as the 'ultimate dream' after the team's new engine upgrade boosted their pace in Friday's practice sessions.

Charles Leclerc topped first practice at Monza, with Hamilton finishing fifth behind Kimi Antonelli and Lando Norris. Mercedes' George Russell led the second session, while Leclerc finished second. Ferrari's improved performance came after the introduction of a new engine upgrade, which Hamilton said has helped the team take a step forward.
Hamilton acknowledged that Ferrari can improve in 'loads of places' and that qualifying will require significant overnight work. He noted that being in the right place at the right time on track would also be crucial for securing pole position at their home race.
