Wright and Harris, both former Ole Miss players, intend to join their former coach Lane Kiffin at LSU for his debut season. Wright, a tight end who recorded 39 catches for 635 yards last season, said he has already practiced with the team and is ready for Saturday's game against Clemson.
SEC Vows to Challenge Decision and Enforce Ban
The SEC's Presidents and Chancellors unanimously adopted a standard stating that member universities should not place former professional athletes on their rosters. Attorneys representing the conference said they plan to file an appeal to Jorden's decision as soon as possible.
The conference reaffirmed a rule that allows commissioner Greg Sankey to punish schools that add former NFL, NBA or WNBA players by suspending coaches for half the season and levying fines that could reach tens of millions of dollars. Every school except LSU voted to approve the sanctions, Sankey said in court Thursday.

LSU president Wade Rousse said the school will carefully review the court's order and continue to work constructively with the SEC and NCAA as the matter moves forward. The university must finalize its roster by Friday, adding pressure amid conflicting court orders.
The SEC filed a separate lawsuit against LSU and Kiffin Thursday morning in Alabama, seeking a clear path to enforce punishments established last week. LSU players told the judge they would not have to cut players to remain under the 105-player limit if they add Wright, Harris and others in the lawsuit.
