McInnes confirmed the injury is similar to one Shankland suffered at Hearts last January and said a scan would be carried out on Monday to assess the extent of the damage. Ryan Naderi scored the only goal of the game, capitalising on a blunder from Motherwell keeper Alex Paulsen to roll the ball into an empty net.
