Midka Park-ka Central ee New York wuxuu isku dayayaa inuu si weyn uga hortago isbedelka cimilada
Park-ka Central ee New York waa meel aad u muhiim ah oo dadka iyo dabiicaba u fududeysa, laakiin wuxuu hadda wajahayaa dhibaatooyin badan oo ka dhashay isbedelka cimilada sida bararo badan, biyo-dhac iyo xad-dhaafyada dhulka.
Isbedelka cimilada iyo dhibaatooyinka Park-ka
Park-ka Central wuxuu caawiya magaalada New York inay ka hortagto xaaladaha culeyska ah ee cimilada, waxaana la sheegay in cimilada Park-ka ay ka hooseyso 5°C (10°F) marka la eego waddooyinka ku dhow. Waxaa jira xaalado badan oo culeyska ah oo ka dhacaya Park-ka, sida bararo badan iyo biyo-dhac.

New York's Central Park is battling heavier downpours, flooding and soil erosion as heatwaves strain its ecosystem, yet the green space remains a critical cooling engine for the city, with temperatures up to 5°C lower than surrounding streets.
A Historic Landscape Under Climate Pressure
The park's celebrated crabapple alleys, once a spring spectacle of white, pink and purple blossom, now face a new threat: winters that are too warm. Staff warn that apple trees could fail to flower altogether, while February heat spells cause magnolias and cherry trees to bloom too early, leaving them vulnerable to late frosts.
The Central Park Conservancy is now experimenting with plant varieties from different climate zones, seeking species better adapted to the changing conditions. The challenge is delicate: modernising a landscape conceived in the 19th Century without erasing the character that has made it a global icon.
Compost, Water and Electric Machines
At a working site in the park's northern section, piles of leaves, weeds and food waste are being turned into compost to enrich the soil, strengthen plants and reduce surface runoff during heavy rain. The Conservancy plans to expand the facility to keep as much organic material out of landfill as possible.
New underground infrastructure will allow water to circulate between the park's northern water bodies, ending the need to continually draw potable water into the system. At the same time, the Conservancy is gradually replacing petrol- and diesel-powered machinery with electric alternatives, from mowers to trash compactors.
A Blueprint for Cities Worldwide
More than half of the world's population already lives in cities, and that figure is expected to approach 70 per cent by 2050. As temperatures rise and flood risks increase, urban green spaces are becoming ever more important for public health and climate resilience.
Yanina Kupava, a Director at the Central Park Conservancy, said that long-term investment in green infrastructure is critical for cities to have a better environment in the day-to-day while preparing for future climate and environmental change.
