Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has published an open letter calling on Americans to change the Trump administration, five weeks before the midterm elections and one day after the US-Israel war against Iran reached its seven-month mark.

The IRGC addressed the letter to the people of the United States, arguing that the political system is at its weakest and that it is time to wrest control back from corrupt politicians. The message comes as the US-Israel war against Iran has entered its seventh month, with the IRGC declaring Tehran the victor and asserting that the United States has failed to achieve any of its stated objectives.
The letter accuses the Trump administration of misleading the American public about the war, Iran's nuclear programme, and who controls the Strait of Hormuz. It also reframes the 'Death to America' slogan as a prayer for the removal of the ruling elite in the White House, not an attack on the American people.
IRGC Spokesperson Accuses Trump of 'Big Lies'
IRGC spokesperson Hossein Mohebbi told reporters that Trump is an 'inveterate liar' who has told Americans 'big lies' while in office. He claimed that the American people are largely unaware of the harms caused by the Trump administration's policies and that awareness would lead them to pressure their government for change.
Mohebbi also pushed back against US claims that Iran has lost leverage over the Strait of Hormuz, stating that the fact that American vessels can occasionally pass through under cover of darkness does not mean the strait is open. He added that the enemy knows Iran is not seeking nuclear weapons.
Diplomacy Efforts Continue as Election Looms
Both US and Iranian officials spoke separately with mediators on Monday as part of renewed efforts to end the war, with Tehran saying a day earlier that diplomacy is the only way to resolve the conflict. Trump has speculated that a deal might emerge right after the November 3 midterm election.
Meanwhile, Iran-linked media and online networks have used artificial intelligence to generate English-language content, including Lego-themed videos and memes, since the war began on February 28. Al Jazeera reached out to the White House for comment but had not received a response by the time of publication.
