The General Asset Management Office, led by Mr. Axmed Ciise Guutaale, released a formal statement declaring its status as a constitutional body established under Article 177 of the Federal Charter of the Federal Republic of Somalia. The office holds administrative and financial autonomy, with its powers and duties detailed in the General Financial Management Act (Lr. 17 of 2019) and the General Asset Management Act (Lr. 14 of 2023).
According to the office, it is the highest authority responsible for asset management, registration, and protection of state property, as well as financial transactions.
