Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas delivered a recorded address to the 81st session of the UN General Assembly in New York, declaring that the Palestinian people will not accept displacement and will not allow any external power to determine their future.

Abbas stated that the Palestinian people will not leave their homeland, will not accept displacement, and will not permit anyone to decide their destiny on their behalf. He emphasized that no lasting security can be established upon the occupation of another people and the denial of their legitimate rights.
The President warned that the Palestinian people are now facing one of the most perilous stages in their history, with the danger extending beyond the two-state solution to threaten the very lives and existence of Palestinians on their own land.
National Project and Path to Sovereignty
"We have our national project, based on protecting our people from displacement, preserving our land and its unity, democratically renewing our institutions, and exercising our right to self-determination, ultimately realizing an independent, sovereign state with East Jerusalem as its capital and securing the return of refugees in accordance with UN Resolution 194," he said.
Abbas reiterated his commitment to a peace grounded in international legitimacy, one that guarantees freedom, independence, security, and peace for all peoples of the region.
Colonial Scheme and Regional Implications
The President stressed that the events unfolding in Gaza and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, are not isolated incidents but part of a malicious colonial scheme aimed at forcing Palestinians to leave their homeland.
He called on the international community to recognize that the Palestinian struggle is integral to global peace and stability, urging all nations to support a resolution that upholds international law and the rights of the Palestinian people.
