The US State Department spokesperson told AFP that while implementing the Tigray war ceasefire agreement was 'not easy', Washington believes it is time to align foreign policy with current realities. Caveats and Ongoing Tensions
The new US decision does not erase previous US assessments and allegations related to the Tigray war; only the legal authority for these specific sanctions has been removed.
