Dhaqdhaqaaqka qaranka ee Mexico wuxuu noqday mid ka mid ah ganacsiga ugu faa'iidada badan ee amniga, iyadoo xadgudubka bulshada uu ku kordhay 45% bishii July, iyadoo qofkii ugu horreeyay ee la xaqiijiyay uu ahaa wiil dhalinyaro ah oo 13 jir ah.
Dhalinyarada oo loo xadgudbay
Mixi Cruz waxay aheyd 13 jir markii ay dhimatay hooyadeeda, kadibna waxay u guurtay aabbihiis, iyadoo aabbihiis u xadgudbay inay noqoto shaqaale ka shaqaysa xadgudubka bulshada. Waxayna aheyd 14 jir markii la xadgudbay.
Markii ay 16 jir noqotay, waxay go'aansatay inay ka baxdo, kadibna waxaa la xukumay aabbihiis iyo aabbihiis 4 iyo 5 sano oo xabsi ah, laakiin waxaa la xukumay xadgudub kale oo culus.

In Mexico, human trafficking has become one of the most lucrative economies in organized crime, with criminal syndicates increasingly involved in exploiting vulnerable women and children.
A Survivor's Story
Mixi Cruz was 13 when her mother died, leaving her to live on the streets before turning to her elder stepsister for help. There, she was forced to manage household chores and pressured into sexual exploitation.
At 14, she was coerced into sex work. She still bears scars on her hands from burning herself while ironing laundry late at night. She was 16 when she finally escaped.
The Scale of the Crisis
The Citizens' Council for Security and Justice estimates that seven out of 10 human trafficking survivors in Mexico are female, and more than half are minors. Since its founding in 2007, the organization has recorded some 26,000 cases.
Experts say the real number is far higher, likely around 98% unreported. Human trafficking involves a high level of emotional manipulation to isolate victims and prevent them from reaching out for support.
Tourism and Awareness Campaigns
Before this year's soccer World Cup, many sex workers hoped for higher earnings, but demand remained virtually unchanged. What increased noticeably was the number of foreign tourists, and with it, another source of danger: the language barrier.
The UNODC and its Mexican partners used campaigns like Mundial sin Trata to raise awareness among the tourism industry. A popular driving service and an online homestay operator joined the effort to offer workshops for hosts.
