Trump: FIFA Qalad Weyn Ayay Samaynaysaa Haddii Laga Qaado Infantino
Madaxweynaha Maraykanka ayaa taageeray Guddoomiyaha FIFA ee cadaadis saaran
Madaxweynaha Maraykanka Donald Trump ayaa digay in FIFA ay qalad weyn samaynayso haddii ay ka fikirayso in laga qaado Gianni Infantino jagadiisa. Trump ayaa ku qoray Truth Social: "FIFA would be making a terrible mistake if, for any reason, they even considered replacing president Gianni Infantino."
Taageerada Trump ee Infantino
Trump wuxuu qoray: "He is fantastic, having just presided over the most successful World Cup, by four times, ever presented." Wuxuu sidoo kale xusay in haddii Infantino la qaado, ciyaaraha aan mar dambe noqonayn kuwo guul ah ama faa'iido leh.
Infantino wuxuu helay Abaalmarinta Nabadda ee FIFA bishii December 2025 kii ugu horreeyay, taas oo muujinaysa xiriirka dhow ee uu la leeyahay Trump. Marka uu 31 July hadlayaal ka jeediyay, Trump wuxuu sheegay in uusan kala hadlin Infantino qorshaha FFE.
Cadaadiska saaran Guddoomiyaha FIFA
Infantino wuxuu cadaadis saaran yahay kadib qorshihiisii lagu iibinayay saamiyada Koobka Adduunka ee ragga maalgashadayaasha gaarka ah. UEFA, CONCACAF iyo AFC ayaa warqad furan soo saaray oo ku eedeeyay inuu jebiyay kalsoonida "through deception" ee qorshaha FIFA Forward Enterprise.
Qorshaha FFE wuxuu abuuri lahaa shirkad maamusha xuquuqda ganacsiga iyo tikidhada tartamada FIFA, iyadoo 21% la iibin lahaa shirkad maalgashi. Thrive Eternal ayaa la filayay inay hogaamiso kooxda maalgashadayaasha, taas oo ah shirkad uu aasaasay Joshua Kushner.
Falcelinta Ururrada Kubadda Cagta
UEFA ayaa hanjabtay inay boycot-gareynayso dhammaan tartamada FIFA inta Infantino xilka haya. Ururku wuxuu xaqiijiyay "departure payment" oo la siiyay shaqaale dhedig ah oo la sheegay inay xiriir la leedahay Infantino xilliyadii uu xoghaye guud ka ahaa UEFA.
US Soccer, Canada Soccer, CFU iyo UNCAF ayaa ku baaqay isbeddel macquul ah oo xoojinaya maamulka, hufnaanta iyo mas'uuliyadda FIFA. FIFA ayaa ku eedeysay dhaleeceynta Infantino inay isku dayayaan inay wiiqaan awooddiisa iyadoo aan hab doorasho jirin.
US President Donald Trump has publicly defended FIFA president Gianni Infantino, warning that removing him would be a 'terrible mistake' for world football. The comments come as Infantino faces mounting pressure over his aborted plan to sell stakes in the men's World Cup to private investors.
Trump Defends Infantino on Truth Social
On Tuesday, Trump posted on Truth Social that FIFA would be making a 'terrible mistake' if it considered replacing Infantino. He praised the FIFA president as 'fantastic' for presiding over what he called the most successful World Cup, 'by four times, ever presented.' Trump added that without Infantino, the tournament would 'never be as successful or profitable again.'
Trump said he had not spoken to Infantino about the FFE plans when addressing them on 31 July. The comments mark the first time the US president has come out in defence of Infantino since the FFE proposal came to light on 28 July. The 2026 World Cup was co-hosted by the US, Canada and Mexico, with Spain crowned champions after beating Argentina in the final.
Confederations Accuse Infantino of Breaking Trust
UEFA, CONCACAF and AFC issued an open letter accusing Infantino of breaking trust 'through deception' regarding his FIFA Forward Enterprise (FFE) proposal. The FFE plan would have created a new company to manage commercial and ticketing rights of all FIFA competitions, with 21% sold off to a private investment company. Thrive Eternal was expected to lead the proposed investor group.
Thrive is an American venture capital firm founded by Joshua Kushner, the brother of Trump's son-in-law Jared. Infantino awarded Trump the inaugural FIFA Peace Prize in December 2025. UEFA has threatened a boycott of all FIFA competitions and confirmed a 'departure payment' was made to a female employee alleged to have been in a relationship with Infantino when he was UEFA's general secretary.
FIFA Accuses Critics of Undermining Authority
FIFA accused Infantino's critics of trying to undermine his authority without a due re-election process. A statement said: 'Those who do not have the support of FIFA's member associations should not seek to achieve through allegation, insinuation or misinformation what they cannot achieve through FIFA's established democratic processes.' FIFA said the president has dedicated more than 30 years of his professional life to European and world football.
US Soccer, Canada Soccer, CFU and UNCAF called for meaningful change in FIFA's governance, transparency and accountability. There have been preliminary discussions between the three confederations over breakaway competitions. Infantino worked at UEFA for 16 years and was its general secretary between 2009 and 2016 before being elected FIFA president.
