Laxman said Sooryavanshi's maturity, understanding and awareness have skyrocketed over the last six months. He added that the teenager reviews every practice session, not just matches, and credited this habit for handling pressure against top players.
The coach said the one area to improve is overall fitness. Laxman described Sooryavanshi attempting a diving catch from deep square leg and being asked off by the physio, saying the eagerness shows his wish to contribute in every way.
Early Struggles and Future Outlook
Sooryavanshi's first three T20 internationals in England produced scores of 14, 13 and 15 before he was left out of the fifth match. Laxman said the teenager's willingness to learn remained a key strength despite the difficult start to his career.
Laxman backed Sooryavanshi to progress, stating he has the potential to break all records at the international level. The coach expressed confidence the young batter will build on his strong start in the Zimbabwe series.
