Koobka Qaramada Afrika ee Haweenka 2026: Morocco iyo Bilowga Tartanka
WAFCON 2026 waxaa martigeliya Morocco markii seddexaad oo isku xigtay, ciyaarahaana waxaa laga ciyaari doonaa Rabat iyo Casablanca. Tartanku wuxuu furmi doonaa 26-kii July, Morocco ayaana wajahey Kenya, halka final-ku qabso doono 16-kii August ee Rabat.
Taariikhda iyo Kordhinta Kooxaha
Tartanka WAFCON wuxuu jiray qaabab kala duwan ilaa 1991, laakiin taariikhda rasmiga ah waxay bilaabatay 1998. Nigeria waxay haysataa rikoodh 10 horyaal, iyadoo Equatorial Guinea (2012) iyo South Africa (2022) ay yihiin kuwa kaliya ee jabiyay xooggeeda.
CAF waxay kordhisay afar kooxood oo ay markii hore diiday, kuwaas oo dhammaantood guuldareystay heerka labaad ee isreebreebka. Iyadoo CAF ay horey u beenisay isbeddelka, afartii kooxood ayaa dib loo soo celiyay ka dib qeybta koobka.
Dib-u-dhigista iyo Sababaha
WAFCON 2026 waxaa markii hore loo qorsheeyay inuu bilaabo March, laakiin waxaa la dhigay 12 maalmood ka hor inta uusan bilaaban. CAF waxay sheegtay 'unforeseen circumstances' sababta dib-u-dhigista, sida ay qireen.
Luxolo September, madaxa xiriirka CAF, wuxuu DW u sheegay: 'It is a combination of factors, and it is not a decision taken lightly.' Morocco ayaa dalbatay dib-u-dhig, waxaana xiriir ka dhexeeyay Morocco, FIFA iyo CAF.
Kooxaha iyo Ciyaartoyda La Ilaalinayo
Nigeria ayaa marlabaad ah farta hore, South Africa 2022 guuleysatana way rajaynayaan. Ivory Coast, Egypt iyo Cape Verde (oo marka ugu horeysa qaybqaadanaya) ayaa laga yaabaa inay la yaab yaabiyaan. Rasheedat Ajibade oo Nigeria ah ayaa ah mid ka mid ah kuwa ugu fiican.
Chiamaka Nnadozie waa goolhayaha ugu fiican qaaradda. Ghizlaine Chebbak (35) waa gooldhaliyaha labadii tartan ee ugu dambeysay ee Morocco. Tabitha Chawinga oo Malawi ah waxay leedahay 25 gool 11 kulan, walaasheed Temwa ayaana ku jirta kooxda.
The 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations will be hosted by Morocco for a third straight time, with matches in Rabat and Casablanca. The event was delayed from March and expanded to 16 teams after CAF reinstated four sides that had lost in qualifying.
Hosting and schedule details
Morocco will stage WAFCON 2026 as the favored African destination for CAF and FIFA since withdrawing from the 2015 men's AFCON. The country also hosted the 2025 men's AFCON and will cohost the 2030 men's World Cup. Fez was dropped from the original host cities when fixtures were announced.
The opener sees Algeria face Senegal on July 26, with Morocco playing Kenya later that day. The final is set for August 16 in Rabat. CAF had planned a 12-team event but added four reinstated teams after qualification, despite earlier denying such a move was considered.
Postponement and federation response
WAFCON 2026 was postponed just 12 days before its March start, with CAF citing 'unforeseen circumstances'. Two years earlier, the event was delayed a year due to clash with the Paris Olympics. Germany's women's season begins the same weekend as the final.
Luxolo September, CAF's head of communications, told DW: 'It is a combination of factors, and it is not a decision taken lightly.' Morocco requested the delay for several reasons after extensive talks with FIFA and CAF over the date.
Contenders and players to watch
Nigeria hold 10 titles with only Equatorial Guinea and South Africa breaking their run. Nigeria enter as favorites, South Africa fancy chances, and debutants Cape Verde may surprise. Morocco seek a first title like their men's side won in 2025.
Rasheedat Ajibade, 2024 player of the tournament, leads Nigeria's attack. Chiamaka Nnadozie is the top keeper. Morocco's Ghizlaine Chebbak, 35, seeks a first honor. Malawi's Tabitha Chawinga has 25 goals in 11 caps; sister Temwa won the 2025 NWSL Golden Boot.
