Diidmada Qorshaha FFE iyo Hanuuninta UEFA
Qorshaha FIFA Forward Enterprise (FFE) ee maamulka tartamada ayaa markii ugu horreysay soo baxay warbixinada The Times iyo Financial Times ee Talaadadii hore. Qodobkii ugu muranka badnaa wuxuu ahaa iibinta 20% ee FFE maalgashadayaasha gaarka ah.
UEFA, CONCACAF iyo AFC ayaa si adag u diiday qorshaha FFE. UEFA waxay ku hanuuntay inay qaadi karto tallaabo sharci ah oo ku saabsan qorshaha, waxayna amartay qareennada in la ilaaliyo dukumentiyada.
Hadalka Grafstrom iyo Shaqaalaha FIFA
Mattias Grafstrom, oo ah shaqsiga labaad ee ugu sareeya FIFA kadib Infantino, wuxuu ka hadlay shaqaalaha 'dhacdooyinkii murugada ahaa ee dhaleeceynta mudan' ee usbuucii la soo dhaafay. Wuxuu balan qaaday in shaqaalaha la 'difaacayo oo laga ilaalinayo xaaladda siyaasadeed'.
Grafstrom wuxuu qoray shaqaalaha isagoo ka mahadcelinaya dadaalkoodii Koobka Adduunka, laakiin wuxuu qiray inay ku sugan yihiin 'qalalaase ay adag tahay in la fahmo'. Xoghayaha COO Kevin Lamour ayaa sheegay in shaqaalaha la 'dhagar galay'.
Diidmada iyo Taageerada Xubnaha FIFA
UEFA waxay sheegtay inay 'kalsoodi' ka lumisay Infantino. Ururrada England iyo Wales ayaa si rasmi ah uga noqday taageeradii uu lahaa, halka Scotland ay la mid tahay mowqifka UEFA.
Qaar ka mid ah ururada Aasiya sida Qatar, UAE, Sri Lanka iyo Lebanon ayaa taageeray Infantino. Laakiin Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein oo u dhashay Jordan wuxuu FIFA ku eedeeyay 'dhagar'.
FIFA president Gianni Infantino convened an emergency meeting of staff and the management board in Rabat on Wednesday, as the fallout from the scrapped FIFA Forward Enterprise plan continues to intensify across the football world.
Emergency Meeting and Staff Reactions
The meeting, called after the weekend, will include secretary general Mattias Grafstrom and the full FIFA management board, including chief of staff Daniel O'Toole and chief legal officer Emilio Garcia Silvero. Grafstrom, the second most senior figure in the organisation, addressed staff on the 'sad and reproachable series of events' of the last week, which concluded with the project being permanently abandoned.
Grafstrom promised staff they would be 'defended and safeguarded from the political context we currently experience,' adding that 'individuals, unstable moments and unfortunate episodes come and go.' The comments follow the resignation of Infantino's senior adviser Carlos Cordeiro and a damning statement from chief operating officer Kevin Lamour, who said staff had been 'deceived' by the president.
Wenger Withdraws from FFE Plan Amid Broader Fallout
Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, FIFA's chief of global football development, issued a statement on Tuesday saying he was 'not involved' in the plan to seek private investment in a company to run the World Cup, but welcomed the decision to withdraw it as 'absolutely necessary and beyond question.' Wenger had faced criticism for his silence but spoke out to affirm his belief in an independent FIFA that serves the game with 'commitment, transparency, and integrity.'
The FIFA Forward Enterprise plan first emerged in reports by The Times and the Financial Times last Tuesday, with the most controversial aspect being the idea to sell 20% of FFE to private investors. UEFA firmly rejected the plan and threatened to boycott FIFA competitions including the World Cup until it was scrapped last Saturday.
Council Divides and Legal Threats Loom
Work is continuing among FIFA Council members to seek a majority of 19 to request a meeting to hold Infantino to account over the plans and his handling of the Folarin Balogun case. If a majority cannot be reached, or if Infantino refuses, opposing council members intend to stage a 'governance boycott' and effectively render FIFA incapable of operating.
UEFA has told Infantino it is 'actively considering' legal action over the FFE plan, with lawyers ordering FIFA staff to identify, locate and preserve any documents related to the project. Meanwhile, Asian associations including Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Sri Lanka and Lebanon have come out in support of Infantino, while Jordan's president Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein accused FIFA of 'blackmail.'
