Infantino oo wajahaya caqabadaha xilka madaxweynenimada FIFA
Gianni Infantino, oo ah madaxweynaha FIFA da’diisu tahay 56 sano, ayaa wajahaya cadaadis baahsan ka dib qorshihiisii iibinta saamiyada Koobka Adduunka ee la fasaxay. Doorashadiisa cusub ee 2027 ayaa hadda ku jirta khatar, iyadoo mucaaradintu ay kordheen.
Qorshihii iibinta oo dhacay
Infantino wuxuu isku dayay inuu iibiyo saami ka mid ah Koobabka Adduunka ee mustaqbalka through FIFA Forward Enterprise (FFE), iib lagu qiimeeyay $20 bilyan. Shirkadda maalgelinta waxaa hogaaminayay Joshua Kushner, oo ah walaalka Jared Kushner.
Qorshahaas waxaa diidey UEFA, Concacaf, iyo AFC, taasoo keentay in 143 xubnood ay soo horjeedaan. Infantino wuxuu u baahnaa 106 cod, laakiin kaliya 68 cod ayaa hadhay Afrika, Koonfurta Ameerika iyo Oceania.
Diidmada iyo iscasilaadda hoggaamiyayaasha
UEFA waxay xaqiijisay in 55 waddan ee Yurub ay qaadi doonaan banaan-bax dhammaan tartamada FIFA haddii qorshaha aan la joojin. Carlos Cordeiro ayaa iscasiley mudaharaad, laakiin Kevin Lamour wuxuu yiri shaqaaluhu waa 'deceived'.
Lamour, oo ah sarkaalka hawlgelinta FIFA, ayaa sheegay in shaqaaluhu ay dareemeen in la khiyaameeyay furfurnaan la’aanta qorshaha maalgashi. Tani waxay muujinaysaa in awoodda Infantino ay si degdeg ah u sii yaraanayso.
Hablaabaha xilka iyo mustaqbalka
Infantino wuxuu la dagaallamayaa dhinacyo badan: qorshihiisii iibinta, balaarinta Koobka 48 ilaa 64 koox, dagaalka UEFA, iyo xiligiisa FIFA. Codbixin kalsooni-darro ah waxay u baahan tahay 43 waddan inay kiciso.
Astaanta Nov. 18 ayaa dhacaysa qofka raaci doona inuu muran geliyo ka hor Congress-ka FIFA ee Rabat, Morocco, March 18. Hase yeeshee, lama aanay soo baxin qof awood u leh oo beddelaya Infantino.
Gianni Infantino, 56, faces an unprecedented challenge to his FIFA presidency after his controversial plan to sell a stake in future World Cups was rejected by a majority of member associations, leaving his 2027 reelection bid in serious doubt.
The $20 Billion Plan Fails to Gain Traction
Infantino proposed selling a stake in future World Cups through FIFA Forward Enterprise (FFE) to an investment company led by Joshua Kushner, offering each of FIFA's 211 member associations an instant $20 million payment, with a further $66 million promised before 2037 if accepted by a majority of nations.
However, the plan was rejected by UEFA, Concacaf, and AFC, meaning a combined 143 member associations opposed it. Infantino needed 106 votes to pass the proposal, but only 68 votes remained on the table in Africa, South America, and Oceania, rendering the project dead in the water.
UEFA Boycott and Internal Backlash Deepen Crisis
UEFA confirmed that all of Europe's 55 nations would boycott all FIFA tournaments unless the plan is abandoned, killing any prospect of the proposal going ahead. Former U.S. Soccer president Carlos Cordeiro resigned in protest, while FIFA's chief operating officer Kevin Lamour said staff were 'deceived' by the lack of openness in planning the private investor scheme.
Infantino's critics see a man desperate to cling to power, but his grip is loosening as he faces global condemnation. His autocratic style and unilateral decisions have brought shame to the organization, with opponents now emboldened to challenge his leadership.
Path to Removal Remains Uncertain
A vote of no confidence against Infantino requires 43 member nations to trigger, but his opponents would need a credible alternative candidate, and nobody has yet emerged to take him on. A deadline of Nov. 18 is in place for a rival to announce their candidacy before a vote at FIFA Congress in Rabat, Morocco, on March 18 next year.
Despite his powerful allies, including Trump, the Qatari royal family, and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia, Infantino's influence is diminishing. If his plan truly collapses, he may discover that his friends in high places quickly stop taking his calls, emboldening his opponents within world soccer.
