Gavi told El Partidazo de COPE: 'I don't think [Paredes] should be suspended.' He added: 'I understand it's not a good image for children, but I think there's also that side to football, which is a bit more physical, more aggressive.'
He said: 'The most logical thing would have been to send him off during the match, and that's it. In the end, I think it's all football, and it has to be that way.' Fifa appointed a prosecutor; any involved person could be suspended and the Argentine association fined.
Confusion over red card status
Fifa's commentator system incorrectly reported Paredes sent off by referee Slavko Vincic for pushing Garcia. The red card was deleted shortly after on the system.
Fifa confirmed to BBC Sport that no disciplinary action was taken at the time. The appointed prosecutor will now assess the incident and determine any further measures against those involved.
