FIFA oo bilowday wadatashi ku saabsan kordhinta Koobka Adduunka ee ragga ilaa 64 kooxood
Qorshaha iibinta saamiga FIFA ayaa wajahaya diidmo baahsan iyadoo taliyaha sare uu istiifaayay
FIFA ayaa bilowday geeddi-ka-soo-saar wadatashi ah oo ku saabsan fidinta Koobka Adduunka ee ragga ilaa 64 kooxood, iyadoo dukumiintiyada ay arkay ESPN ay beegsanayaan go'aan maalinta Aug. 14. Qorshahan ayaa imanaya iyadoo diidmo baahsan laga hayo iibinta saamiga.
Nidaamka wadatashiga iyo jadwalka go'aanka
FIFA waxay qaybisay warbixin cilmi-baaris ah oo cinwaankeedu yahay 'Potential expansion of the FIFA World Cup to 64 teams' axad kasta, iyadoo waqti go'an oo ah 15 maalmood loogu talagalay go'aan. Dukumiintiga shan-bog leh, FIFA waxay tiraahdaa waxay 'considering the strategic implications of a possible expansion of the FIFA World Cup beyond the current format'.
FIFA waxay rabtaa inay magacawdo wakaalad madax-bannaan si ay u go'aamiso bal in iyo sidee loogu kordhin karo tirada kooxaha 48 ilaa 64 laga bilaabo daabacaadda 2030. Dukumiintigu wuxuu oggolaaday 'research brief sharing' Jul. 30 iyo 'agency proposal delivery on Aug. 7'.
Diidmada qorshaha iibinta saamiga
Qorshaha iibinta $20 bilyan ee Infantino ayaa u muuqda mid burburay ka dib bayaanno ay soo saareen UEFA, Concacaf iyo AFC oo cambaareeyay oo diiday soo-jeedinta, ka hor inta uusan lataliyihiisa sare istiifaayo. Qodobka ugu muranka badan ee FFE wuxuu ahaa iibinta saamiga laga leeyahay maal-gashadayaasha gaarka ah.
UEFA waxay damacsan tahay inay qaadacdo tartamada FIFA ilaa laga joojiyo mashruuca, iyadoo AFC iyo Concacaf ay sidoo kale diideen. Carlos Cordeiro ayaa Jimce subaxnimo ah istiifaayay, isagoo ugu yeeray FFE 'a bad deal for football'.
Culeyska saaran Infantino iyo tallaabooyinka AFC
Infantino wuxuu horey ugu jiraa cadaadis sii kordhaya oo ka imanaya ururada gobolada, inkastoo la filayay inuu dib loo doorto 2027. Isku-dayga fidinta Koobka Adduunka wakhtiga wadatashi gaaban wuxuu suurtagal tahay inuu adkeeyo diidmada Swiss-Italian-ka.
Bayaanka AFC wuxuu ahaa mid gaar ah oo u xun Infantino, isagoo ku baaqay 'urgent review' ee qaab-dhismeedka maamulka, wuxuuna tilmaamay: 'This is not the first occasion where major stakeholders have been confronted with significant initiatives after the direction of travel appears to have already been determined'.
Brief timeline set for expansion study as confederations reject Infantino's investor plan
FIFA has launched a consultation on expanding the men's World Cup to 64 teams, targeting a decision by Aug. 14. The move comes as Gianni Infantino's $20 billion private stake sale faces rejection from UEFA, Concacaf and AFC, with his senior adviser resigning.
Expansion brief and timeline
FIFA distributed a research brief titled 'Potential expansion of the FIFA World Cup to 64 teams' on Thursday with a 15-day decision window. The five-page document states it is 'considering the strategic implications of a possible expansion of the FIFA World Cup beyond the current format'.
FIFA seeks an independent agency to assess impact of growing from 48 to 64 teams from the 2030 edition. The plan green-lit 'research brief sharing' on July 30 and 'agency proposal delivery on Aug. 7,' with a decision on Aug. 14 and full analysis on Sept. 11.
Opposition to sale plan
The FIFA Forward Enterprise's minority stake sale to private investors is its most contested element. Thrive Eternal, founded by Joshua Kushner, is set to lead investors. UEFA, AFC and Concacaf have rejected the plan, with UEFA boycotting until scrapped.
AFC demanded an 'urgent review' of governance, saying 'This is not the first occasion where major stakeholders have been confronted with significant initiatives after the direction of travel appears to have already been determined'. Carlos Cordeiro quit, calling the proposal 'a bad deal for football'.
Pressure on Infantino
The 2026 World Cup won by Spain was the first 48-team event; a 64-team jump was previously rejected privately. Infantino faces rising regional pressure and the short consultation may harden opposition to the Swiss-Italian ahead of 2027 reelection.
UEFA cited bigger, more frequent tournaments as a key concern if private equity influences operations. The Aug. 14 cut-off is a month before Infantino's deadline for 211 members to approve the sell-off plan.
