Waxqabadka To'o iyo xaqiijinta u guurkiisa
Brian To'o wuxuu ka soo baxay Panthers markii ay 12-6 ku badisay Roosters, isagoo dhigay 17 orod oo gaaray 162 mitir, shan tackel bust iyo laba layn jebin. Ma uu keeni karin try-giisii 100-aad ee Panthers, laakiin tani waa heerkiisa caadiga ah.
To'o wuxuu weli ma tagin Papua New Guinea, inkastoo loo xaqiijiyay inuu u saxiixanayo Chiefs-ka PNG. Waxqabadkiisa wuxuu yimid maalmo ka dib markii la xaqiijiyay u guurkiisa, oo aan ahayn mid la yaab leh marka loo eego tayadiisa.
Dhismaha kooxda Chiefs iyo faa'iidooyinka
Chiefs waxay saxiixeen lix ciyaartoy, afar ka mid ah ayaa ciyaaray State of Origin labadii sano ee la soo dhaafay. Sidoo kale Jarome Luai waa loo magacaabay saxiixigoodii ugu horreeyay, waxaana maamulaha guud ee kubadda Michael Chammas yahay.
Kooxdu waxay dhiseysaa xarun raaxo ah oo PNG ku taal, mana aysan helin dhalinyaro ilaa hadda. Faa'iidadooda waxaa ka mid ah qandaraasyo canshuur xor ah iyo maalgelin dowladeed, taasoo ka sarraysa naadiyada kale ee NRL.
Qorshayaasha mustaqbalka iyo xaddidaadaha
Chiefs lama hadlayn karaan wakiillada xorta ah ee NRL xilliga 2028 ilaa Noofambar 1, 2026. Hudson Young ayaa ku jira indhahooda ka dib taxane State of Origin, halka Gairo Voro, Morea Morea iyo Finlay Glare ay u gudbi doonaan qandaraasyo horumarineed.
Sam Walker wuxuu diiday dalabkii ugu horreeyay ee Roosters bartamihii usbuuca. Liam Martin wuxuu gariray Cody Ramsey, Spencer Leniu wuu ku adkaaday, Nathan Clearyna wuu ku guuldareystay, dhamaantoodna xiriir kale ayaa laga yaabaa.
Brian To'o returned to the field for the Panthers' 12-6 loss to the Roosters, delivering a performance that underscored his status as the league's premier winger even as he prepares for his new chapter with the Papua New Guinea Chiefs.
To'o's Stellar Performance Before the Move
Brian To'o scored 17 runs for 162 metres, made five tackle busts and two line breaks in the Panthers' match against the Roosters. For some wingers that's a big night but for To'o it's the standard. The future Papua New Guinea Chief did not bring up his 100th try for the Panthers but did churn through a dominant display.
His showing in the Panthers' 12-6 loss to the Roosters was typical of the To'o we've come to know. The performance came in the days following confirmation of To'o's move to the Papua New Guinea Chiefs and it shouldn't have been a surprise. There are good reasons To'o has become the premier winger of his time, and having such a high baseline is one of them.
The Chiefs' Remarkable Signing Strategy
The Chiefs have signed six players, four of whom have played State of Origin in the past two years. Not since the Broncos filled their boots with Queensland-based stars for their inaugural season in 1988 has an expansion team signed so much established talent. The other two are the greatest try-scorer the Australian game has ever known and one of England's top front-rowers.
They have achieved all this without really entering the cut and thrust of the transfer market in earnest. Officially, the Chiefs cannot talk to any NRL free agents for the 2028 season until November 1 this year. Each of the signings they've made within the NRL have come because a club granted permission for the player in question to negotiate early or because the player activated something in their contract that allowed them to do so.
Looking Ahead: A Monsoon of Talent
Hudson Young, fresh off a career-changing State of Origin series, is in the Chiefs' sights and despite the Raiders offering just about everything they've got to a player who has found a home in Canberra, fans there are turning as green as their jerseys because they know there's a chance they'll be money-whipped. The spectre of similar moves loom over a sport addicted to transfer gossip.
With local products like Gairo Voro, Morea Morea and Finlay Glare, all of whom are enjoying standout seasons with London Broncos and will eventually take up development contracts with the club, to fill out the other end of the roster, the Chiefs can keep aiming high. The downpour of money is a monsoon that shows no sign of breaking, even as rival clubs get swamped.
