Federal Parliament member Cusmaan Xaadoole has commended the sweeping changes in Mogadishu since President Hassan Sheikh Maxamuud took office, citing improvements in security, cleanliness, and commerce.
Sweeping Changes in the Capital
Xildhibaan Cusmaan Xaadoole, a member of the Federal Parliament of Somalia, stated that Mogadishu has undergone significant transformation across multiple sectors since President Hassan Sheikh Maxamuud assumed office. The MP highlighted progress in security, aesthetics, trade, and construction as key indicators of this change.
Xaadoole specifically praised the efforts of the Banadir Region administration and the long-term vision of President Hassan Sheikh Maxamuud toward national security and development. He noted that the city now reflects a new era of governance and public service delivery.
Cleanliness as a Measure of Progress
In a vivid illustration of the city's transformation, Xaadoole recounted how waste management has shifted from informal collection to legal enforcement. He described a past incident where a man refused to remove trash without payment, even resorting to violence, but now faces legal consequences for littering.
The MP declared this shift a victory for Somali society, attributing it to sustained awareness campaigns and government effort rather than spontaneous change. He urged the Banadir community to continue supporting the government's developmental initiatives.
A Promising Future for Somalia
Xaadoole expressed confidence that Somalia's future holds great promise, citing the country's natural resources, particularly oil, as a catalyst for attracting foreign investment and employment opportunities from African nations. He emphasized the need for youth reintegration and national unity.
Beyond his parliamentary duties, Xaadoole is known for his vocal support of President Hassan Sheikh Maxamuud's policies and his leadership role in organizing local militia forces in the Shabeelle Central region against Al-Shabaab.
