Shilka iyo xaqiijinta dhimashada
Helikobtar nooca Sikorsky S-64 'Skycrane' ah, oo ay maamusho shirkadda Helicopter Transport Services oo qandaraas la leh Adeegga Kaymaha ee Maraykanka, ayaa dhulka galay qiyaastii 10am waqti deegaanka ee Jimcih (16:00 GMT) u dhow Richfield. Hecht wuxuu yiri 'It’s not going to change how we operate' iyo 'We’re going to continue to fight fire and utilize aircraft to support our firefighters on the ground'. Badhasaabka Utah Spencer Cox wuxuu dab-dhimista dhulka ugu yeeray 'among the most dangerous jobs in the world' wuxuuna codsaday in dadku u haybaan 'in your prayers'.
Dabka Widemouth 2 iyo taariikhda xilligan

Mas'uuliyiintu waxay xireynta dabka dhigay 24 boqolkiiba Sabtida, iyadoo dabku weli khatar ku yahay bulshooyinka u dhow.
Tani waa markii labaad ee dab ku kaco Utah xagaagan oo dhimasho keenta; Saddex dab-dimiye ayaa Juun dhintay iyagoo la dagaallamayay dabyo Knowles iyo Gore ah, midna ayaa markii dambe u dhintay dhaawac. Ilaalada Waddooyinka Utah waxay Samtii qaadeen gebi ahaanba 'fallen heroes'.
A Sikorsky S-64 Skycrane operated by Helicopter Transport Services crashed near Richfield, Utah, on Friday while battling the Widemouth 2 fire, killing both the pilot and a crew member. The National Interagency Fire Center confirmed the deaths on Saturday after extreme fire conditions and steep terrain delayed rescue efforts for more than 24 hours.
Crash Details and Rescue Delay
The helicopter went down around 10am local time on Friday in the Three Creeks Reservoir area, close to the southeastern edge of the Widemouth 2 fire. The National Interagency Fire Center said extreme fire conditions and steep terrain prevented rescue teams from reaching the wreckage until Saturday, when the bodies were recovered. The names of the deceased have not been released.
Deputy incident commander Tyler Hecht said crews took a tactical pause to regroup after the crash before resuming firefighting operations. He stated that the incident would not change how the team operates and that they would continue to use aircraft to support ground crews.
Fire Conditions and Evacuations
The Widemouth 2 fire, which started from a lightning strike in Fishlake National Forest on July 27, has burned more than 111,000 acres and is on pace to become Utah's largest wildfire this year. Officials listed containment at 24 percent on Saturday, with extreme fire behaviour including crowning and long-range spotting still threatening nearby communities.
The NIFC issued evacuations for residents in the area and imposed road closures. Utah Governor Spencer Cox called wildland firefighting among the most dangerous jobs in the world and asked residents to keep the crew in their prayers.
Funeral Honours and Broader Context
The Utah Highway Patrol organised a procession Saturday evening to escort the remains of the fallen heroes. The NIFC extended its condolences to the friends and family of the deceased.
This is Utah's second fatal wildfire incident this summer. Three firefighters died in June while battling the Knowles and Gore fires near the Colorado border, and a fourth firefighter later died from injuries sustained in that incident.
