Eedaha Fiji iyo Hantida Lala Wareegay
Amine wuxuu ka mamnuuc yahay Fiji oo ku eedaysan soo dejinta 4-tan oo methamphetamine ah. Maxkamadda Sare ee Fiji waxay ku tilmaantay 'drug kingpin' sanadkii hore iyadoo 9 Fijian la siiyay xukunno taariikhda ah.
Komishanka Dembiga NSW wuxuu la wareegay $10 milyan oo hanti ah. Wuxuu xiriir la leeyahay qoyska Alameddine iyo KVT, wuxuuna xog ku jirtaa in la afduubtay 2021.
Sam Amine, 39, is awaiting sentence in the NSW District Court after pleading guilty to brokering the supply of drugs and a firearm to an undercover police officer in a suburban Sydney street operation.
The Undercover Operation
The sting began in April 2024 when an undercover officer, using the encrypted app handle 'Kraken', contacted Amine. Amine described 500 grams of MDMA as 'light but very strong' and arranged the exchange for $20,000. His nephew Nabil Allouche physically handed the drugs and a firearm to the officer outside a Greenacre McDonald's.
Forensic analysis confirmed the MDMA had a purity level of 77.5 per cent. Two days later, surveillance captured Allouche entering the officer's car to complete the transaction. The operation was meticulously planned to catch Amine and his associates in the act of supplying illegal substances and a weapon.
Arrest and Broader Charges
By May 2024, Amine brokered the sale of 986 grams of MDMA and 56 grams of cocaine to the undercover officer. Police swooped on Allouche after the $48,000 exchange, and Amine was arrested shortly after. The NSW Crime Commission has also seized $10 million worth of his assets.
Amine has connections to the Alameddine crime family and the KVT, a Western Sydney street gang of Fijian-Australians. He was previously kidnapped and tortured for a $3 million ransom in 2021, highlighting his deep entrenchment in Sydney's gangland milieu.
Fiji Connection and Legal Status
Amine is separately wanted in Fiji over an unrelated record 4-tonne methamphetamine seizure. Fiji's High Court labelled him a 'drug kingpin' last year as nine Fijians received the most severe sentences ever for a drug crime in the nation's history.
He left Fiji and four months later, in May 2024, was charged with selling drugs and a firearm to an undercover officer on a suburban Sydney street. Amine is due to be sentenced over the drug and pistol offences in the Downing Centre District Court next week.
